The development of this package enables a standardised roll out of the safe sex and personal safety workshops to teachers and mentors outside of SOS UK.
The workshops form the basic knowledge framework of the overall package and are supported by the other products. It is important to realise that they address sexual issues in the subject’s and peers normal routines of life and distinctively heighten awareness and understanding because they are not separated from life experiences and choices by traditional text book approaches. Simplified the message is to understand how potential problems may arise, what options are available and how an informed response can influence life changing situations. The overall model is to create individual & community ownership, positively influencing how people react.
The underwear, lids and foils are used to enhance the individual’s recall of the input and directly influence behavioural patterns apart from being useful tools in themselves. The underwear creates a trendy method of bringing to the forefront the use of condoms, but also reminds the user of what may happen if they don’t use one. The lids/foils are used by the public as a matter of course; however they also provide a dynamic information and helpline supply line apart from direct input from designs.
The methodology, course notes and training are provided and these are supported by a referral support network.
The workshops can be made readily available, via corporate in house trainers, to the wider community in a relatively short space of time, thereby maximising effectiveness and efficiency.
